Laser engraving

Laser engraving can be understood to be a special laser method with which marks with defined depths can be made in parts – in a similar manner to a mechanical engraving.

With this process, the material is removed layer by layer with the laser. Depending on the application and material a depth of up to several tens of millimetres can be achieved. Corner radiuses from 15μm can be created; with a mechanical gravure this is not possible.

Applications

In particular for the hard metals, laser engraving is much better than the mechanical method. The laser beam does not undergo wear and tear. Small corner radiuses of a few μm are possible.
